Singularities - Monstera and Orchid Crested Crown

Made atop one of my Tudor crown bases, this piece is accessorized with monstera leaves in several shades of green, a focal red orchid in the center, and embellished with red glass crystals and zebra wood beads- totally one of a kind. 

While orchids are popular in modern home floral collections- with hundreds of varieties and hybrids- they’ve been popular with humanity as far back as Ancient Greece. Their symbology has similar range- elegance, refinement, love, endurance, luxury, thoughtfulness, mature charm, respect, power, and so on. Personally, I refer to them as “the lesbian plant” as a reference to the viral 2016 YouTube video “Company is Coming” by Chris Fleming. 
Monstera, on the other hand, weren’t described historically until the 1700’s~ or rather, weren’t recorded in English until colonization made its way to their native region of South America. While there are many species of monstera, they represent longevity, good luck, and prosperity.
